Meet Fatima Dedrickson

Meet Fatima Dedrickson! Born and raised in Sweden, Fatima moved to America 10 years ago and ran track in college, where she met her husband. They have been married for almost seven years, have three beautiful children together, and call the hot desert of Arizona home.

BB: Tell us a fun fact about yourself.

FD: My nickname is Fatty! Yup, everyone calls me that!

BB: What’s in your Birdling? What are the essentials you can’t leave home without?

FD: I recently took my Weekender to New York and it was the best bag ever! I fit my clothes, shoes, camera, necessities and more clothes. I can’t live without my planner - I bring it with me everywhere.

BB: What do you love most about your Birdling?

FD: I love the size of it, ALL the pockets, and of course how stylish it is!

BB: What’s one thing you do to stay more organized and sane in everyday life?

FD: As I mentioned, I have a planner that I write everything in it. If it’s not written down, it probably will not happen. Mom brain at it finest!

BB: How do you manage to stay organized while traveling?

FD: Well, traveling by myself is a whole other world than traveling with children. We went to North Carolina this summer and each kid had their own backpacks. We had car seats that needed to be dropped off, luggage, etc. My oldest was a huge help. The key is not overpacking!

BB: If you could drop everything and travel today, where would you go? Who would you bring?

FD: I would definitely go to New Zealand with my husband and our friends!

BB: What’s your most funny, terrible or memorable travel moment?

FD: Every time I travel, I swear something always goes wrong! Delays or something else! But something I’ve learned is to not be closed off. You NEVER know who you might meet. I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Dare to look up, start conversations etc, then it won’t seem too bad.

BB: Any travel tips to share?

FD: Travel light and smart! I love my Weekender because of all the room and how much I can fit in it. That’s all I need. Also, make traveling fun! If you’re traveling with kids, be prepared with snacks and activities. And again, HAVE FUN!
